Google Exact Match Domain Recovery Steps

Sites hit by Google Exact Match Domain can take these Steps to regain their Google Ranking:
1. Work on Your Site Presence in Social Networking Sites like Facebook, Twitter and Specially Google Plus. Increase your Social Circle in Google Plus. Make your facebook pages, Twitter profile etc. Social Signal is one of the key area to work on.
2. Verify Authorship of your Site with Google
3. If any page is overly optimize with the niche keyword then remove the extra SEO work. You can edit the Anchor text or remove some extra links to that page etc
4. Get Links from Related Niche Sites… Most Probably by writing Guest Posts. As practically, it is difficult to get links. Don’t go for buying links.
5. Add lot of Unique Content Post and Submit your site to Google webmaster tools and also submit site map to google webmaster tools.
6. Remove Duplicate Content from your Site and Check for any broken links.
7. Add No-Index to WordPress Archive Pages. Also add No Archive to Tags or to Category Pages.
8. Push Some of Your Adsense ads Below the Fold and Give a good reading experience for your readers. All this to make sure you have less bounce rate and more facebook/twitter shares via readers.
9. Regularly update your site with quality content.
10. Once all these Steps are taken then file a reconsideration request to Google using Webmaster Tools.

Few Observations About Exact Match Domain Penalty
1. I have seen few sites of my friend which are hit by exact match domain penalty and those sites has good content and they were definitely not low in quality. Neither they were too much optimized with SEO. I think, it will take some time for google to tweak its algorithm to find out the bad sites from good sites. As of now many good sites are also hit by this update.
2. Recovery from google penalties take time and there is no shortcut.
3. Now onward, Webmaster can opt for Partial Match Domains instead of Exact Match Domains.
4. Instead of seeing this as penalty, we can say that the advantage of having keywords in the domain name has been taken away by google.
